Delete your Lights On Me account
This page explains how to delete your Lights On Me account and all associated data, whether you still have the app installed or not.
From the app (immediate)
- Open Lights On Me
- Go to the Settings tab
- Open the Advanced section
- Tap Delete my account and confirm
Deletion is immediate and permanent. No waiting period, no copy retained beyond the legal exceptions listed below.
Without reinstalling the app
If you no longer have the app or can no longer sign in:
- Write to contact@lightsonme.app from the email address associated with your account
- Subject: "Account deletion"
We process requests within a maximum of 30 days (usually within a few days). If the email does not come from the account address, an identity check may be required before processing.
What is deleted
All data linked to your account is erased immediately and permanently:
- Account (email, identifier)
- Profile and onboarding answers
- Sessions, transcripts and coach feedback
- Personal journals (daily good things, gratitudes)
- Retained audio files (voice letter, "savor a moment" clips)
- Summaries, dynamic profile, usage statistics
What is retained (legal exceptions)
In accordance with our Privacy Policy (section 5):
- Proof of acceptance of the Terms and Privacy Policy: retained for 10 years (Article 17(3)(e) GDPR; Article 127 of the Swiss Code of Obligations).
- Crisis detection safety log: retained for 10 years from the detection (Articles 6(1)(f) and 9(2)(f) GDPR, defence of legal claims, with Article 17(3)(e) applying to erasure requests; the analysis itself relies on your explicit consent, Article 9(2)(a)). Since 27 July 2026, no excerpt of what was said is recorded; earlier entries contain one, of at most 200 characters, erased after 6 months. It contains only: category, language, your internal user ID, the session ID, the detection method, the usage mode, the date of the detection, and the flags and timestamps for the display of the support message and the emergency resources.
- Ongoing formal dispute: deletion of the data concerned may be temporarily suspended for the duration of the procedure (Article 17(3)(e) GDPR).
